Take one dose in the evening with food and a full glass of water.
At the start of treatment, take an extra AM Boost dose in the morning, or as directed by your doctor.
Be sure to wear a mineral-based sunscreen with minimum SPF 30 daily, as your skin will be extra sensitive to sun exposure.
Results typically seen in 8-12 weeks with consistent use.
One bottle contains approximately a 3-month supply.
"Whenever someone took a picture of me, I would ask them to not show anybody because you could see my spots. It was just a big weight on my shoulders that wouldn't go away. After I signed up for Musely, I started seeing results on my face in 2 weeks."

"I'm on day 35 of using the pill 2x a day with the spot cream at night. I am so thrilled with my results! This was definitely worth getting as I have been dealing with melasma for the past 5 years. It got increasingly worse after my pregnancy. I feel like it also helped with some other issues, if you've looked up the spot pill it helps with menstrual so it was a double whammy!"

Tranexamic acid helps with melasma by reducing the production of melanin in the skin. It works by inhibiting the enzyme that triggers melanin production, leading to a reduction in the appearance of dark patches on the skin.
Does tranexamic acid stop your period?
At much higher doses than prescribed for skin hyperpigmentation, oral tranexamic acid is effective in controlling heavy menstrual bleeding by slowing the breakdown of blood clots. It does not, however, stop your period. To ensure safety and effectiveness when treating hyperpigmentation with oral tranexamic acid, it is important to adhere to the dosage and instructions provided by your Musely dermatologist.
What should I know about storage and disposal of Tthe Spot Pill or tranexamic acid pills?
Storage: Tranexamic acid pills should be stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
Disposal: When disposing of tranexamic acid pills, do not flush them down the toilet or pour them down the sink. Instead, check with your or Musely provider on how to properly dispose of unused medication. This will help prevent harm to the environment and others who may come into contact with the medication.
What happens if I miss a dose of Tranexamic Acid?
If you miss a dose of tranexamic acid for the treatment of melasma, it is possible that your melasma may not improve as expected. It is important to follow the instructions carefully and take the medication as prescribed to achieve the best results in treating melasma. If a dose is missed, do not double the following dose, instead proceed with the next dose as originally scheduled.
What happens if I overdose Tranexamic Acid?
If tranexamic acid is overdosed on melasma or dark spot treatment, it can potentially lead to adverse effects such as skin irritation, redness, or even worsening of the condition. It is important to follow the recommended dosage and application instructions provided by our healthcare professionals or the product label to avoid any negative outcomes.
Is this product for controlling menstrual bleeding?
Our Spot Pill is a bottle of oral tranexamic acid pills designed exclusively for treating dark spots from melasma. This is not a medication related to decreasing blood lost from heavy menstrual bleeding. Seek medical advice from your primary care physician if you need support with menstrual-related issues like excessive bleeding and blood loss.
Is this a form of birth control?
No. It's not a hormone, it is not a form of birth control, and does not protect against STDs.
