I'm Asian and my skin discolors at the drop of a hat. On top of melasma and dark spots, I suffered from hormonal acne that left dark, purplish scars. I have photos of my face before Musely but I am completely embarassed to show how ugly my skin was! It got to the point where it deeply affected me to the point where I didn't go out very often and didn't like looking at people directly in the face. I'm also 55 years old, so all those acne scars seemed like a joke at my age. I tried everything including a laser that...well, discolored my skin more. I had a huge dark patch on my forehead, and dark patches on my cheeks that looked like brown blush. But when I saw the photos of the women here, I was surprised. I got my spot cream and within a few WEEKS, the melasma and dark spots lightened considerably and I have about five more weeks to go! :) I also suffered NO side effects from using the spot cream aside from a bit of dryness. All I can say is...THANK YOU MUSELY!!!!!

The Spot Cream — frequently asked questions

What is the difference between spot cream for treating melasma versus laser treatment?
Spot creams and lasers are effective melasma treatment options and also help with dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. However, laser treatments have a longer recovery time, can be more costly (expect to pay anywhere from $250 to $2,500), and more risks are involved. Read more.
What are the melasma treatment protocols?
Melasma treatments typically involve a combination of powerful ingredients like hydroquinone, tretinoin, and niacinamide. These ingredients are all contained in topical form within The Spot Cream from Musely. It's essential for users to also use sun protection with a mineral SPF 30+ daily in their skincare routine, as sunlight can worsen melasma.
How to get rid of sunspots?
To get rid of sunspots, The Spot Cream is one of the best skin care options available. It is a prescription topical skincare product formulated to target and diminish the appearance of sunspots. The cream contains active ingredients that work to lighten these spots, improving skin tone and texture. For best results, it's important to follow the product's application instructions and consider pairing it with a high quality sunscreen to protect the skin from further sun damage.
How to treat dark spots on the face?
To treat dark spots on the face, The Spot Cream offers a specialized topical medication for melasma. Our prescription skincare products are formulated to specifically target common skin conditions, helping to even out skin tone and improve overall complexion. It's essential to follow the prescribed application instructions for optimal results and to use sun protection to prevent further darkening.
Can The Spot Cream be used alongside exfoliating treatments?
Some patients may use exfoliating treatments such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or chemical peels as part of a broader skincare routine, but they should be used carefully to avoid over-irritating skin that is already being treated for discoloration. Always follow your provider's guidance when combining active ingredients.
What causes dark spots on the face?
Dark spots can be caused by sun exposure, hormonal changes, acne-related irritation, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A prescription dark spot corrector can help visibly reduce discoloration and improve overall tone over time.
