I developed melasma and hyperpigmentation issues in my late 30s and early 40s. I think a lot of this was due to changes in hormone levels after the birth of my son's and the onset of perimenopause. I've tried a variety of creams and treatments to alleviate symptoms over the years, with some working better than others. Obviously, minimizing sun exposure has helped diminish sun damage, but it still has no effect when it comes to battling melasma. So far the benefits of the melasma treatment I've been using with Musely has been extremely amazing. Not only is the treatment effective, but it's also been very affordable!
