This stuff is great. It really works quickly for melasma and hyperpigmentation. It does cause flaking but that is normal due to the exfoliation factor. As a licensed esthetician I was looking for stronger ingredients list for my menopausal skin. I am not yet 40 but started peri early, around 35/36. I always had issues with melasma but this stuff is great and works quickly. If you find that the flaking bothers you, apply a light moisturizer or barrier prior to this ( sandwich method) or reduce how many days of the week used or every other day. Make sure your dermatologist knows and get the okay with them first but this is the best method to reduce that. You could also add a very gentle exfoliant weekly to help with the flaking and peeling. So far so good!
