what you need for the glaze: 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 3 tbsp melted butter 1 tsp vanilla extract 2-3 tbsp milk food coloring and sprinkles are optional
preheat oven to 450° and butter 14 doughnut tins. Next in a large bowl wisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and some salt. Set this bowl aside.
In another bowl, using an electric blender,mix together the melted butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and vanilla bean seeds. Blend until it is smooth. Now slowly add the flour mixture and the milk to the mixture and continue stirring with the electric blender.
spoon batter into the buttered doughnut pans, filling them to about 1/4 inch from the rim. bake for about 7-10 minutes or until you can poke it with a toothpick and it comes out clean. move doughnuts to a cooling rack.
in a flat bottomed bowl, wisk together the powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. next stir in 2 tbsp of milk adding 1 tsp of milk at a time until desired consistency. wisk until smooth and add some food coloring for desired tint. warm glaze in microwave in 10 second intervals.
dip the doughnuts in the glaze reheating it as necessary add the sprinkles immediately after dipping the doughnut.
