  • (1) Measure 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin into a disposable container
(2) Add 1-2 tbsp milk into gelatin
(3) Until it looks like this (see photo 3)
(4) Mix it up - you'll want to be rather quick about it - until you get a chunky consistency. NOTE | Add more milk if you’re uncomfortable with the amount of chunk.

Microwave gelatin for 10-15 seconds.  It will get creamier in microwave. Stir mixture + start applying IMMEDIATELY to your face.  This stuff hardens up fast so you’ve got to act fast.

  • INGREDIENTS |
(+) 1 cup warm water (spraying)
(+) 1 tbsp sea salt (texturizing)
(+) 1-2 tsp olive oil, argan oil or coconut oil* (moisturizing)
(+) 4-5 drops essential oil (for smelling yummy — use your favorite or a mixture)
		(+) Spray bottle
*Coconut oil’s melting point = 76*.  If you store it in a cooler place, the oil will solidify.  I’d recommend using olive or argan oil if that’s the case.  You can also store the jar on a window sill or warm it up for a few seconds in a microwave before using.

  • A few other optional modifications:

    • DRY HAIR | If your hair is dry + you’d like a little extra moisture, add in an extra teaspoon or 2 of the oil.
    • OILY HAIR | If your hair is too oily, then I’d go light on the oil + just use 1 teaspoon.
    • CURLY OR STYLED HAIR |  If you want to really "set" or hold a style in place, you can add in a teaspoon or 2 of hair gel  (I’ll sometimes just use a bit of regular hair spray after styling my hair).

  • Heat water until it comes to a simmer. Stir in salt until completely dissolved.  Whisk in coconut oil + a few drops essential oil.  Pour it into bottle + give it a good shake. Spray all over your wet hair.  Once you blow dry + style it…get ready for some extra texture! The sea salt creates that perfect "beachy" feel that’s perfect for curls, waves, or even just giving your straight look a little extra boost.  Feel free to mess around with the proportions to find the mix that’s perfect for you.

  • INGREDIENTS |
	•	(+) 2 tbsp coconut oil
	•	(+) 1-2 tsp shea butter
	•	(+) ½ tsp beeswax pellets (optional, see note)
	•	(+) 1 tbsp freeze-dried cranberry powder
	•	(+) ½ tsp beetroot powder

NOTE | Beeswax is optional. It will give the gloss a firmer texture, more like a balm. The gloss melts easily on the skin; only a small amount is needed.
For a darker shade, add more beetroot powder. For a different shade, mica powder could also be added.

  • INGREDIENTS |
(+) 1 cup baking soda
(+) ¼ (heaping) cup citric acid
(+) 10 spritz of water
(+) 10 drops peppermint essential oil
(+) 10 drops spearmint or wintergreen essential oil
(+) 5 drops lavender essential oil
(+) 15 drops rosemary essential oil
(+) 11 drops eucalyptus essential oil

(+) 10 drops spearmint or wintergreen essential oil
(+) 5 drops lavender essential oil
(+) 15 drops rosemary essential oil

  • INSTRUCTIONS |  In a small or medium bowl mix citric acid + baking soda until combined. Once combined add all essential oils to dry mixture + stir until mixed together. Once mixed spritz with water, once mixture sticks together, place in molds. Let dry for a few hours or overnight + store in airtight container.

  • Melt beeswax in a double boiler on high until completely melted.
Melt beeswax in a double boiler on high until completely melted.
  • When it’s completely melted, add coconut oil using a 2:1 ratio of coconut oil to beeswax (at least).  I started out with 1/2 cup of beeswax + 1 cup of coconut oil. Mix together until the beeswax + coconut oil are completely combined + have a thin, liquid consistency.
Using a dropper, grab some of the mix + squirt it out on a piece of wax paper.  When it has cooled down, test the lip gloss on your lips and see if it’s smooth or still has a waxy consistency.

  • If the lip gloss is perfect, you’re almost done.  Skip to next slide.

If the lip gloss is waxy, you still have some work to do. If you feel wax on your lips, add more coconut oil 1 tablespoon at a time until completely melted. Test, mix, add, test.

  • When you’re completely satisfied with the texture, add a slice of lipstick (I used really cheap Wet n’ Wild .99 cent lip stick in a bright pink) + mix it in, until you’re satisfied with the color.  The lip stick isn’t actually going to make the lip gloss pink on your lips, unless you add a ton, but it’s pretty + will make the lip gloss more aesthetically pleasing.  So you should probably do it.

  • Now’s the time for your essential oil to shine.  I added about 15 drops of peppermint essential oil per batch (at least), but it’s totally up to you.  Make it as gloriously peppermint-y as you’d like. Use the dropper to transfer the lip gloss from the pot to the containers, filling nearly to the top. Repeat into separate jars until done, letting the lip gloss cool completely before screwing on lids. Package + repeat.

  • Add in ¼ teaspoon of Rose essential oil + 10 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil.

Pour mixture into a small glass container + put it in refrigerator for about 1hr or until the liquid returns to solid form. After it turns to a solid, there is no need to keep it refrigerated. The oils will not become rancid. Use a small amount at nighttime, under your eyes + prepare to look refreshed! You can also use before applying makeup.   Just give it 10 mins to soak into your skin before applying makeup.

(+) 1 cup of coconut oil
(+) 15 drops of essential oil
(+) muffin tray or ice cube tray- as a mold
  • Start off with 2 cups of coffee grounds; make sure all the excess liquid is out of then (I used a stocking to squeeze the liquid out; you can use a nut bag too). Then add 1 cup of coconut oil to the grounds + stir. Once combined, add 15 drops of essential oil. I used sweet orange + lemon grass. The lemon grass over powered the sweet orange, but they did get rid of the coffee smell in the scrub.

  • Once you stir in the essential oils you can use little muffin tins (use 2-it can get a little oily) or an ice cube tray. Place the scrub into the molds + put in the freezer; let it set. Once firm pop out of the tray + store in a plastic bag or an air tight container.

  • BRUNETTE VERSION |
    • 1 Tbsp Corn Starch
    • ½ Cup Cocoa Powder
    • Shaker

In a small mixing bowl all in your cocoa powder + your corn starch + mix both the ingredients together.  Once blended well spoon the dry shampoo into your shaker container + it’s ready to use.

  • To apply the dry shampoo in either color just sprinkle a bit of the dry shampoo on your roots + rub in with your fingers.  The powder will absorb into your roots soaking up the excess oil sitting on your head.  Plus I love the hint of the cocoa powder on my roots –  makes me feel so refreshed!

You can also use a make up brush to help get the powder into your roots without getting your hand messy. This really is a fool proof way to use dry shampoo without paying a fortune.
