Zebra Cake Recipe

  • Here we have a new suggestion about an interesting cake to surprise both children and adults that have to attend a party you are organising or just use to come visiting in the weekend. We will tell you something about how to make a Zebra cake. It seems to be sweet and low in calories so it is also perfect for the ladies, plus it only takes 10 minutes to prepare it and 40 to cook.

    You will need:
    – 4 large eggs;
    – 250 g granulated sugar;
    – 250 ml milk;
    – 250 ml oil;
    – 300 g all-purpose flour;
    – 1/3 tsp vanilla powder;
    – 1 tbsp baking powder;
    – 2 tbsp dark cocoa powder.

  • Directions: Take a bowl and pour in the sugar and eggs and beat until it gets creamy and light colored using a mixer. Continue beating until well blended. In a second bowl mix the baking powder with the flour and vanilla powder, gradually adding the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and beat until the mixture gets smooth and everything is well incorporated. Add cocoa powder into half of the composition, mix well, and leave the other simple. Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease the pan, or line it with parchment paper if you are not using a nonstick pan.

  • Start dropping ¼ cup of white batter into the middle of the pan, let it spread a little. Take ¼ cup of cocoa batter and pour it in the middle of the white one. Continue repeating the last two steps until you finish the batter. Put in the oven and check if it is done with a toothpick. If you want, you can make two batters and make a cream to put in between them, when placing one above the other. Decorate with whip cream. Have fun!
