Yummy DIY Canadian Bacon Manwitch
Food & Drink
First its not really bacon, what started off as a joke between me and my boyfriend about how Canadian bacon isn't really bacon its ham actually turned out to be a great toasted sandwich you can even add a fried egg and make em into breakfast sandwichea
Start by heating your stove to between medium and medium high to heat it quickly This what my stove looks like when its heated and cooking they take a bit to cook but if you want to turn it up and cook them faster go for it
Total time should probably be an hour because you need about 6 slices for a sandwich. This is the ham i use its salty and fries like bacon, we didn't have bacon at the time and this turned out better
When the pans hot enough add a slice of butter, we use alot of butter in this recipe. When the pan starts to get dry add another slice and you can add as much or as little as perferred
I was cooking in a small pan but any size pan works, they start off big bit shrink down to half the size.
You'll start to notice them browning because of the butter i don't know how else to explain it but you'll know when to flip them but don't constantly flip them
What i use
Flip them again and wait 5 mins then flip again occasionally adding more butter because you are technically frying them
They start to golden up and depending how long you want brown them up and make them crunchy
These should be the end result about 6 make a sandwich and depending on how long you cook them depend how dark they are. At this point they're juicy and salty
Toast some bread, add mayo mustard and cheese or egg and its a yummy lunch or dinner sorry i dont have a picture of the finished product i ate it 😊
There might be a recipe like this out somewhere but this is my invented version i made one day in my kitchen
