  • while it is not your job to make an employee who serves you life easier, it does make life for everyone much more enjoyable and less stressful. here are some tips I feel are important to remember. working many different jobs, these are things that I have had happen a lot more than you'd think and it can be quite annoying and make working quite miserable. 😥

  • grocery stores:
- look for the lane lights. even if someone is at the Lane, doesn't mean it's open. if the lane light is off don't go to that register
- (at food lion for example) if a registers light for express is on, it is express. if the Full service light is on, it is not express, don't ask😂

  • - if you have your own bags, or u want to purchase and use those bags, tell the cashier before they start scanning
- if you have any coupons or WIC checks give them to the cashier along with the member card (bjs, food lion, ect.) first
- you do not have to write on personal checks the machine will.

  • when it comes to carts, please try to come at least close to the cart drop off areas. or if you can carry the bags to the car without taking the cart out do that. chasing down all the carts in the dead heat of summer, or the pouring rain or even bone chilling cold is miserable and upsetting 😕

  • fast food or restaurant
    - don't blame your server for issues with the food, if the food is cooked wrong, let the server know and they are more than willing to fix it. depending on policy you may even get a discount or refund.
    - when tipping remember that most waitresses/waitors live off tips. the waitor/waitress only deal with the service you receive they cannot control what the kitchen may do wrong with your meal.
-- DO NOT TIP BASED ON FOOD TASTE OR SPEED AT WHICH IT COMES OUT.
-- DO TIP based on how attentive the server was to your needs and how willing they where to fix any problems.

  • don't be like the former CFO of a big company who decided to bash a Chickfila employee just because she chose to work for that company. it's uncalled for, rude, and just makes for a miserable day at work for the employee and probably a bit of an upset moment for you.
live happy and don't get stressed over things. at most establishments, they are more than willing to help with anything you need, you just need ask.
at grocery stores, be independent and try to figure things out on your own first, then if you still need help there are usually Many (stockers/managers) employees around to help.

  • JUST BE HAPPY, give in to others as you wish to be done onto you!✌🏼

  • DO NOT DROP AN ITEM YIU DO NOT WANT ANYMORE ON A RANDOM SHELF OR ON THE BACK OF THE REGISTER! if you do not want it hold onto in case you go back through that isle or so you can hand it to the cashier once checking out. also hand the basket to the cashier or slide the cart down so it can be reloaded

  • please, if u have trash, used tissues, fliers, ads, or coupons don't leave them in the cart just ask the cashier to throw it away. we will be much happier doing it when you check out than we would be picking it up when we have to go grab all the carts

  • also try to put carts that go together in the same lane, don't leave them on a curb, don't mix the small carts with the giant ones in the lanes. and don't drive super close to someone bringing carts in, it's scary
