  • What you need:
A cheap plug in hot plate ($18 at walmart)
    An old cooking pot
    Wax in a metal tub
    Water
    2 old bedsheets
    Baby powder
    Baby oil
Thick popsicle stick to apply wax

  • Preperation:
Lay out one old bedsheet where you will sit while waxing. (Close to hotplate)
Cut wax strips out of the other bedsheet.
    Step 1:
Put some water in the old cooking pot and put it to heat on your kitchen stovetop. Wait until it is boiling.
    Step 2:
Bring the boiled water onto the hot plate

  • Step 3:
Submerge the metal containter of wax into the water.
    Step 4:
Use the popsicle stick to push open the lid of the metal container.
    Step 5:
Mix the wax around to make sure it is the right consistency to apply on to your skin.
    Step 6:
Apply baby powder on to the surface of skin to be waxed.

  • Step 7:
    Wax the skin.
Tips:-Apply the wax evenly onto skin, not too thin and not too thick.
-If the wax is not the right consistency you may have to adjust hotplate temperatures.
-Apply the wax towards the growth of hair.
-Pull the strips opposite of the growth of hair.
    -To ease pain stretch fat.

  • Cleanup
Wait until hot plate and cooking pot are cool
    Dump the water out
Store everything in plastic bags to avoid sticking
Use baby oil to clean unwanted stickiness

  • You can save so much by waxing at home, and arms and legs can be done easily on your own. The technique may take a little while but with practice you get the hang of it. It is not necessary but having someone you are comfortable with to help out will make waxing much easier if you are just starting.
