Even if you have a strong core, you won't see any definition is there is fat covering it, especially lower abs. Cardio is the key to the abs you've always wanted. (Especially if losing weight is your overall goal)
Cardio doesn't just mean running, anything that gets your heart rate up is considered cardio. Do your choice of cardio for as long as you can, then the next day do one minute longer.
Crunches, side crunches, sit ups, leg raises, reverse crunches, planks, Russian twists, roll ups, or any other core exercises you like. Come up with your own exercises plan, including what exercises you're doing and how many times. The next day you should up the reps by 5.
Sugary drinks will only hold you back. Try water or a sports drink instead. If you can't stand water, try some squeezable water enhancer. (Many of them have no calories or sugar)
All the junk food doesn't help your stomach at all. Eat healthier options, it'll make you more energized and feel better while you're working towards your stomach. Plenty of healthy food tastes just as good as junk food, just try different kinds.
Make a schedule!
Do not tell yourself you'll do it later! You know you actually won't. Set a time that you are going workout daily. Try not to deviate from this time. Doing it at this time everyday will allow it to become part of your routine, and it won't feel like such a drag. It'll become a regular part of your day, making it all easier!
Ask your self why you're doing it. Are you doing it for yourself or for someone else? You need to stay motivated, even if that means working with a partner. (Making a schedule will help with this)
