Tips for mistakes you make with your mascara🎀
• You curl your lashes after you apply mascara. You should always use an eyelash curler on clean, mascara-free lashes. Otherwise you can cause your mascara to clump, and risk pulling your lashes out.
• You apply mascara on your top lashes before your bottom. You have to look up to apply mascara on your lower lashes, which can cause any still-wet mascara on your top lashes to smudge. So if you want to apply mascara on your lower lashes to make your eyes pop even more, do that first.
• You pump your mascara wand. This dries out your mascara faster because it allows too much air to get into the tube, and dried out mascara equals gross, clumpy lashes!
• You only put mascara on one side of your lashes. If you curly your lashes and then just apply mascara on outward-facing side of your lashes, you instantly lose the curl because of the weight of your lashes. Be sure to apply some on the top of your lashes to balance the weight and hold that curl.
• You keep the same bottle for too long. Makeup can carry bacteria too, so you have to renew your products every few months to avoid eye infections. You should throw away your mascara after two to three months, or when it clumps up and starts to smell funky.
• You apply it wrong. Rather than just sweeping upward, you should wiggle the wand from side to side at the base of your lashes, then sweep up. This way, you don’t have any clumps and your lashes look thicker and longer.
• Your share it with your friends. Of course you want to be a good BFF when your friend’s crush is in her next class and she asks to borrow some mascara, but that's not a good idea. Sharing mascara is one of the easiest ways to spread icky germs that can lead to an eye infection!
