The Vintage Zombie CocktailšŸ”„

  • The vintage zombie was created by Donn Beach, of Hollywood's Don The Beachcomber restaurants in the late 1930s. It got its name because this cocktail can turn it's drinkers into zombies.
Its a high-octane drink of sweet fruits and delicious fruit juices that make you feel like you're downing sophisticated candy, all the while hiding it's high proof of alcohol.
There's no more appropriate drink for forgetting your troubles in the face of a zombie apocalypse then this.

  • The original recipe had 7.5 oz of alcohol in it compared to most drinks that only have
2 oz alcohol content. That's like drinking 3 Martinis or 3 Manhattan's. No wonder it was named Zombie....I bet it would put ya in a zombie-like state. COOL!! So there's many variations of this drink and I have one.

  • 1 oz Dark Rum
    1/2 oz Light Rum
    1 1/2 oz Golden Rum
    1/2 Bacardi 151
    1 oz orange juice
    1 oz lime juice
    1 tsp fine sugar
You can also add an oz of papaya juice too

  • Pour all the ingredients except for the 151, into a Collins Glass or Martini with ice and fill it up ALMOST all the way.
Get spoon and submerge it under your drink and pour the 151 into the bowl of the spoon. This will float the rum. Now because of the high alcohol proof, if you WANT to, strike a match or flick a lighter on top of your drink. When it goes out garnish with a maraschino cherry, a fruit slice and a mint sprig if you will.
