The Perfect Red Lip by The Perfect Red LipFirst thing first! Let's get these lips healthy! Make sure you've exfoliated your lips. You can do this with a sugar and Vaseline scrub or by simply rubbing your toothbrush across your lips a few times. After you've done this you'll need to moisturize! I use coconut oil, however Chapstick, moisturizer, or Vaseline will do the trick.Next you'll need a lip stain. We don't need anything fancy. e.l.f and Revlon brand lip stains work just fine. We are basically using this as a base so apply this to the general outline of your lip. You need not worry about precision at this point in time, just slap it on!Now let's get to the real stuff. This "X" method is a godsend. It gives you the power to manipulate the shape of your lips with precision so you don't look like you just got it on with a clown. Follow the pictorial above.After you've mastered the "X" method, fill your lips in the rest of the way with your lip liner!Apply your best red lipstick at this point! Marilyn's makeup artist used to apply her lipstick, blot it gently with toilet paper, and then apply another layer! It really helps eliminate a bunch of touch ups throughout the day.Lastly, to add some real flare to your perfect red lip, add a highlight to your Cupid's Bow. You can do this by using eyeshadow or even a light eye pencil. If your using a shadow I find it easiest to apply the product with a q-tip. You can use matte shadows, satin, glitter, the options are endless. If you use a product like a cream pencil, use a clean lip brush to blend the product out!That's it! You have a red carpet worthy red lip! This is my first Tip ever and I hope that it was helpful! Somebody once told me that I couldn't pull of red lipstick. That it wasn't for me. So one day I said, screw you. I'm going to make red lips my signature thing and I've been doing it ever since. Never let anyone tell you what your "thing" is or what does and does not look good on you. It is your body and you are allowed to do with it whatever makes you feel beautiful.
