The Easy Way To Clean Those Stove Burner Grates.

  • Here is what you need:
Large ziplock bags
Ammonia

  • Put 1/4 cup ammonia in each bag with one grate (you can even put the knobs in the bags with the grates).

  • Now the best way to do this is to put the bags with the grates in them on cookie sheets and set them outside in the sun all day. Bring them inside and continue to let them soak over night. If it's not a sunny day, you can do the same inside. It just works a little better in the sun. In the morning take the grates out. Most of the grime will come off with a regular sponge. If they were as dirty as mine, you will need a scouring pad and a tiny bit of elbow grease. Now that wasn't too hard, was it?
