Tattoo Do's And Don'ts.
Skin & Body
Always do your research!
Good tattoos aren't cheap and any tattoo will be on your skin forever. (Unless you opt for laser removal which is much more painful and much more expensive than going under the needle in the first place!) Research different tattoo artists, ask for people's recommendations! don't be afraid to walk into different shops and ask to see a portfolio of their work. After all that's the reason they have them!
Take your time, think about what you want and where you want it. Don't just get one on a whim as the chances are you will regret it! (And don't I know it) Yet don't feel pressured into creating a reason as to why you've had the tattoo, not every tattoo has some deep and meaningful reason behind it. You can get a tattoo just because you like it and it's your body!
One of the biggest let downs for any tattoo is a simple spelling mistake! But... You are just as responsible for checking your script as the tattooist is! They will ask you to check the stencil beforehand. If you are unsure ask someone or check the spelling online.
Although very popular at the moment tattoos on the fingers and sides of the hand wear off extremely fast and can leave you with a few splatters of ink in around 6 months. If you are set on having a tattoo there be prepared to keep having it redone every so often!
Always take into consideration placement, think about where you want your tattoo, especially if you are considering your face/neck/hands. If you are having one in a visible place be prepared for people to ask questions, prod and touch it lol. (This really does happen) all I can say is tattooed skin feels just the same as any other skin!
I know when we are head over heels in love and only look at our other half with rose tinted glasses the urge to have their name (or face) tattooed on us can be overwhelming... My honest advice?? DONT!!!! On so many occasions I have seen people ask for cover ups for their exes names (or face) I personally wouldn't do it. Even if I had been happily married for 50 years!
Don't be inpatient, to get a tattoo with a good artist you can be waiting months or possibly years before you go under the needle with them, but it will be worth the wait. Just remember tattoos are very individual and we all have different options on them. Don't ever be pressured into getting a tattoo and don't ever be pressured into backing out. It is your body, all I advise is to do your research and think about what you truly want!
