  • With the spring sneaking up on us, it's time to get ready to get that spring cleaning in. These are a few things that I do every year for my spring cleaning.

  • Steam clean your carpets. This will get all of the mud, dirt, and grime out of your carpets that have built up over the winter. I use vinegar and water first, which will stink to high heaven but pulls out so much crap that it's worth it. Then I follow with a carpet cleaner. Works and looks great!

  • Baseboards. Scrub these puppy's down! Dust and dirt accumulate on these very quickly. Sometimes slapping a fresh coat of paint after you clean it can make it look like new. But most times you won't need that and just cleaning will do. I use dawn dish soap, water, and a used dryer sheet. Works great!

  • Clean your fan blades. Dust collects on these easily and it will spread it all over your house. If it's really bad, I will get furniture polish and wipe them down. If it's just a little bit I use the swiffer 360 things. Catches the dust and works like a charm.

  • Clean your mattress. The best way to do this is use your steam cleaners attachment and clean your mattress. Other ways if you don't have one are sprinkling baking soda on the mattress and rub it in. It soaks up all odors. Then vacuum it up. You can also put a drop or two of essential oil for scents.

  • Clean the cob webs down from the corners of your rooms. It's unattractive, unless it's Halloween.
