Skin Spotlight: Dry BrushingDry brushing seems to be 2018's hottest trend. But what is it exactly? What are the benefits? How do you use it? Well, lucky for you I'm breaking it down so you know everything you need to know about dry brushing! After doing a bit of my own research, intrigued after reading a few articles on this horse looking brush, I found some great benefits on this new & now beauty practice that everyone should know. Besides making you feel amazing, it is extremely easy to incorporate into your current routine. Dry brushing is mainly used as a way to detox the body by stimulating the lymphatic system, which is responsible for collecting and transporting waste to the blood and invigorates the skin. It has also shown the incredible effects it can have on cellulite - preventing and smoothing away cellulite through circulation, elimination of toxins, and sweeping away dead skin cells. This one little added step is easy enough that anyone can try it out for themselves if they don't believe me. And you only need to set aside 3-5 minutes of your day! Most experts suggest dry brushing in the morning, rather than at night, because of its energizing qualities. The golden rule for dry brushing is to move the brush towards your heart. Start at your feet with this motion and similarly, when you start on your arms, begin at the hands and work your way up, again toward the heart. Use firm, small strokes, or work in a circular motion. For the stomach, brush in a circular, counterclockwise pattern. Harsh exfoliation is never the point; be sure not to press too hard. You can use the brush on its own (and shower after skin brushing, then apply oil or lotion), or you can apply a bit of oil onto the brush before (and shower before). Give it a try to see which method works best with your lifestyle!
