Silicone and shampoo; what products and ingredients to use/avoid for healthy hair <3

  • Check label for siloxane or ingredients with suffix -cone or -thicone or with prefix silane-.

These are ingredients you should avoid or use sparingly.

(if you do use products containing these, what I like to use is Neutrogena clarifying shampoo once a month to clean all the build-up out. After washing my hair with the clarifying shampoo, I use my regular shampoo and conditioner and my hair turns out super shiny and clean.)

  • Some silicone free products include:

    Tony&Guy
    Alverde
    Swiss O'Par
    Nivea
    Dr. Hauschka

**not all products under these brand names are silicone free, only ones labeled as such

  • ingredient exceptions that are ok:

    Lauryl methicone copolyol
    Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 methicone
    Dimethicone copolyol
PEG-dimethicone or any other 'cone' with
           PEG suffix

  • This is what I follow to keep my hair healthy! Please like, share, and follow! <3
