SUMMER MAKEUP | 5 ways to add bright colours to your look!
Make the most of these last few weeks by experimenting with some bright makeup that’s trending! The thought of wearing blue eyeshadow or neon eyeliner would make a lot of people run for the hills; but here’s five ways to incorporate bright colours into your look without looking like a clown.
LET'S BE BOLD |Lipstick is, of course, the easiest way to add a pop of colour to your face.
This summer, it really is a case of anything goes, so don’t be afraid to try something ‘out there’.
Metallic-finish lipsticks are really popular at the moment, as are blue shades. However, you could always opt for a bright fuschia pink if nothing else takes your fancy.
Keep the rest of your makeup fairly neutral if you’re wearing a bold lip.
ELECTRIC EYELINER |Why not switch up your usual black eyeliner for something electric. You don’t get better colourful eyeliners than NYX’s Vivid Brights Liners.
Changing nothing about your usual look except adding one of these neon beauties will still make a statement!
MASCARA IT |Just like eyeliner, mascara is another way where changing just one product in your usual makeup routine can really update your look.
YSL have just come out with a lovely range of bright colours: the YSL Beaute Vinyl Couture Mascaras go from pink to green, with a gold topcoat thrown in for good measure.
This is probably the most subtle way to add bright colours to your look, but it’s stunning.
STATEMENT EYESHADOW | You can really turn heads with a colourful eyeshadow look.
Popular colours at the moment are pink + blue – the brighter the better. Smoke the colour out all over your lid + bring it down under your bottom lash line.
Kiko is a perfect store to shop for everything colourful + they have a huge range of highly-pigmented powder + cream shadows. Add some matching coloured mascara if you really want to make an added impact.
INNER CORNER COLOUR |If you don’t want to put a bright colour all over your lids, a great way to add a colourful pop is by doing a dark smokey eye + just dabbing an intensely bright shade into the inner corners of your eyes only.
This inner corner trick also works great if you’re wearing no eyeshadow on your lid + going for a bare makeup look overall.
