Real English Toffee

  • 2 sticks of real butter
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 water
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1/2 cup crushed almonds

  • Melt butter turn it up to high heat add sugar water and salt keep stirring for the next 12 mins till you get a gold brown color as soon as it's done pour onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper spread into a 1/2 in layer cool enough were it's still hot put the top is somewhat firm add chocolate

  • Chips spread evenly cool for just 1 min add crushed almonds then stick in freezer for about 30 mins shake off excess almond dust and break with hands into pieces
