Oreo Truffles

  • Ingredients 
    1- package of Double Stuffed Oreos
    1- 8oz block of cream cheese (prefer Philadelphia as most store brands aren't as smooth)
    1- package of Baker's milk chocolate melting cup 
    1- package of melting chocolate wafers (fondue chocolate)

    Food processor
    Chocolate melter (if you opted for the fondue chocolate)
    Box of toothpicks
    Wax paper or parchment paper
    Large Baking sheet (hold up to 3 dozen cookies)
    Empty freezer space!

  • Directions

    Put two rows of Oreos (do not break up) in food processor and pulse until all cookies are crumbled

    Take out any large pieces and set aside

    Add cream cheese to processor and pulse until it's fully blended

    Remove blade and pour mix into a bowl (stainless steel is preferred) and place in the freezer for 10 minutes 

    Remove bowl and begin to roll out truffles into desired size and place on a wax paper lined baking sheet

    Place toothpick in the top of each truffle directly in the middle but do not put down all the way

    Place sheet in the freezer for 1 hour 

  • After 45 minutes begin to melt the chocolate stirring constantly to be sure it's smooth and shiny 

    Pluse remaining Oreos and large crumbs in processors until crumbs are small then set aside 

    Remove sheet from freezer and begin dipping truffles into chocolate by tilting it

    Twist the toothpick back and forth over chocolate bowl to help excess chocolate fall off

    Sprinkle the Oreo crumbs over the truffle while twisting back and forth 

    Place back on wax paper 

    Repeat the process once done place in the freezer for 30 minutes 

  • Slowly remove the toothpicks and use the extra melted chocolate to cover the hole then add more crumbs set aside to dry

    Repeat until all toothpicks are out of the truffles

    Keep refrigerated until ready to serve or freeze then allow the truffles to set out for two hours
