  • Let's face it, removing nail polish is a pain. Here's a quick and painless way to do it, all you need is a cotton ball and some acetone.
Tear your cotton ball up into small pieces, and put acetone on your nails. Now place the pieces of cotton ball on your nails and leave them there for two minutes; when you pull the cotton ball pieces off, they will take your nail polish with them. Now do the same on your other hand and you're done.

  • 3. Always file in the same direction

To avoid nail tears and keep that beautiful oval nail shape, make sure you only file your nails in one direction. Also, avoid metal files, glass files are highly preferable.

  • 4. Make your own matte color
Just take a bottle of clear nail polish and add corn starch, a little at a time, until your nail polish has a milky-white look. Now put a layer of this mixture over on top of any color nail polish and you'll have a beautiful matte finish

  • 5. The key to making this work is to buy a super-fine metallic sharpie and make sure that it's the WATER-BASED version. You can buy them online for less than $2. It's a great tool for drawing your own patterns. After the sharpie has dried, apply a clear-coat on top and you're done!

  • 6. DIY dotter

It's easy! Just take a thin flathead nail and stick it into a pencil eraser. Yes, it kind of looks like a prison shank, but it'll help you make beautiful nail art!
