My Girly Christening Theme And Cake

posted in Family & Kids
  • My niece got Christened on Sunday, so my boyfriend and I dressed up a room for a her. We went for a baby pink theme, (just to make it nice and girly!)
We went for plain white table cloths and chair covers and then added little pink touches. We put baby pink ribbons on the chairs in bows, and used the same ribbons running down the table in a ruffle.
We put star napkins on the table just for a little extra wow factor.
We also made a little cake table as well with a ruffles cake stand and diamonte cake board.

  • So for the cake we wanted to be a little traditional.
The bottom layer is a classic fruit cake, nice and traditional for family events, but the top was a simple sponge just for people who don't like fruit cakes.
We covered it in marzipan and then iced it.
I then made the ribbon around the bottom and bow, made a little cake board out of cardboard and covered with foil to put between the layers.
Popped on the top layer and put on a quilted pattern around the side and made flowers to go on the top.
I made cross on top by cutting out cardboard and covering in icing
