Mini Apple Rose Tarts

So simple and so much fun to make! Great for holiday treats and desserts!
What you will need
6 red apples (I chose red delicious, they are my fave!)
1 and1/2 cup of granulated sugar
2 tbsp of cinnamon
Pre packaged pie crust dough
Mini cupcake tins
Non stick frying pan
Wash and cut the apples in half Take out the seeds and cut in half again so you have 4 quarters Now slice the apple in thin slices. The thiner the better. (I used a vegetable peeler)
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together Add a few table spoons of water until you get a thick dark syrup Caramelize the slices of apple with the syrup. Make sure each slice fully touches the surface of the pan. Try to keep the slices in tact.
Roll out the pie dough and cut out 10-12 inch strips about an inch wide
Place the apple slices on the dough with about half of the slice on the dough and half above it. Layering the slices like so.
Staring from the same end you behaving laying out the slices, roll up the dough. Took me a while to figure it out. You want to roll the dough loosely and keep it the same width throughout, do not tighten the bottom.
Place them in the cupcake tins after spraying with vegetable oil. Bake for 15 mins at 325. You can brush the tops with the cinnamon sugar mixture to keep the apples from drying out.
And all done! They are super cute and your guests and family will be amazed!
