  • Was craving a Mexican type dish that was simple to make. First time to ever make these and they came out delicious! Added a few different ingredients but they were def a hit in my house :)

  • These are the brands of the ingredients I bought. You can get whatever you find at your grocery store though!

  • Ingredients (Makes 20)

    1lb ground hamburger
    1pk Mrs. Dash taco seasoning
1pk Mission 20 ct. Flour tortillas
    (Medium/Fajita Size)
    1 16oz can refried beans
    1pk shredded Mexican blend cheese
    20 toothpicks

    Oil for frying
    Sour cream
Your favorite salsas or hot sauces

  • Start by browning the hamburger then draining fat. Follow instructions on seasoning package and cook.

I start by spreading the refried beans on one end of the tortilla. Do not fill more than a quarter of the section, just make sure it's spread all the way across the tortilla. Next take a spoonful of the hamburger and also spread from side to side, then sprinkle with your cheese. Next just simply roll the tortilla making sure they are pretty tight and use toothpick to hold together.

Heat oil and start frying! I would recommended only doing 3-4 at a time.

  • Cook on each side 2-3 minutes or until they start to become golden brown!

    * BE VERY CAREFUL OF OIL *

The oil kept popping up and shooting everywhere due to the liquids from the hamburger coming out!

Simply lay them out on paper towels to drain excess oil and after they have cooled a bit take the toothpicks out and they will keep their rolled form on their own :)

I serve with some Spanish rice or a nice salad and have sour cream and salsa for dipping!

I know the refried beans aren't typically a part of a taquito recipe but I thought it added extra flavor!

  • These will be a crowd pleaser for all ages at parties or small get togethers. You can even make with shredded chicken or ground turkey!

Enjoy 😊
