  • Supplies Needed: You'll need a large strip of lace fabric appx 3 yards long x 12 inches wide, white embroidery thread, a needle and scissors. Cut fabric to size. Remember, depending on the size of the ruffles, your scarf length will be between 1/2-1/3 as long as your fabric is.

  • Start your first ruffle 2 inches from the side. Simply secure the first stitch with a knot and start stitching every 1/4 of an inch. (For larger ruffles make your stitches 1/2 or 1/3 of an inch). Once there are a few stitches, lightly pull the thread tight, causing the fabric to ruffle.

  • Make sure to not pull the thread too tight, leave it slightly loose so that the ruffles are more spread out. The tighter your thread the shorter the scarf! Do this until you get all the way to the end of the fabric, and then repeat the process on the other side to make two separate ruffles 8'' apart
