Make Your Face Appear Thinner & More Sculpted With Contouring! by Make Your Face Appear Thinner & More Sculpted With Contouring!Contouring can add depth to your face, accentuate bone structure and even make your nose appear to be thinner - all without plastic surgery! 1. Start with a clean slate, wash your face and apply your foundation and concealer as you normally would. 2. After applying your foundation and concealer, you'll want to use a foundation in a neutral shade that is quite a few shades darker than yours as well as one a few shades lighter. Apply the lighter foundation (the highlighter) to your chin and a small line down the bridge of your nose. 2. (Continued) apply the lighter shade of foundation above your top lip and slightly under your nostrils. Also apply a small amount of the highlighting shade to the area right above the bridge of your nose on your forehead and under your eyes. It will begin to look like war paint!3. This is where the darker foundation comes into play. Contouring with the darker color will help bring out or create the appearance of great facial bone structure. 4. Apply the darker shade with your fingers or your foundation brush along the sides of your nose following the nasal bone structure up to the beginning of your eye brows. Apply the contouring shade under your chin and along the underside of your jawline. 4. APPLICATION OF CONTOUR CONT. Continue to apply the darker shade to your temples and half way up the outside of your forehead by your hairline. Bring the darker shade down from your temples and apply it under your cheekbones or where they should be (find this area by sucking in your cheeks)4. While sucking in your cheeks (think: fishy face) you will see an indent where you should apply a small fingers width amount of the darker shade. 5. Slowly blend with your fingers or a brush each of the colors, start with the lighter shade and then blend the darker. Make it so it's blended well into your foundation but the highlighting and contouring is still visible. 6. After blending, apply the rest of your makeup as you normally would. Blush, lipstick or gloss, eye shadows and liner and mascara. The before and after will be drastic but very flattering to your face. It will take a few practice rounds to get contouring perfected. Keep trying!
