  • Nowadays most people are trying to lose weight and there's millions of tips all over the Internet of how to lose it but not how to gain it! I am someone who has always been low in weight (due to fast metabolism) and have always been trying to gain some.

  • If like me you love doing exercise but you don't want to lose weight then keep reading. calorie intake is a big part of gaining weight especially with a fast metabolism! if you exercise and want to still gain weight then you need to work out on average how many calories you have per week. Once you know that you need to add 500 calories on per day to your intake. A good app to track your calorie intake is 'my fitness pal' this is free on the App Store and google play and you can set goals to how much weight you want to gain and how many calories you have per day.

  • Here are some of my tips how to gain weight:

    •Instead of having 3 big meals a day have around 5 small ones
    •To gain weight you can't just eat a load of rubbish! you need to have a healthy&balanced diet.
    •If like me you struggle to eat big portions at once then have smaller portions with higher calorie foods.
    •Make sure you have carbs, protein and the right fat with every's not good just eating a lot of pasta or chicken!
    •If you're really into healthy foods like salad make sure you put things into it like cheese&meats
    •Instead of drinking water try milk or juices with meals

  • Another way to gain weight is to do strength training. This will build up your muscle mass and turn the fat you don't need into muscle and the muscle mass weighs more than fat does...even better you'll have a toned body! You can do this weight training at home, wether it's squats, lunges or lifting Dumbbells!

  • Apps that I found useful:

    •My Fitness Pal-calculates your calorie intake(free)
    •Babylon-If you are still struggling you can talk to a specialised doctor for free!(the app is also free haha)

    These are the only two apps I use to help myself and they work a dream!:)

  • Some ideas to have as snacks:

    •Dairy Products:
    ~whole milk
    •Bananas-these fill you up and have a good amount of calories:)
    •Nuts&seeds-these are full of calories and are a tasty snack
    •Dried fruits&Fruit juices-these also have a lot of calories
