The first step to growing out your hair is commiting! Be sure to do every tip for the best results.

  • Do's and Don't's of Growing Out Hair

1.) Don't use brushes. They are more likely to to rip out your hair causing split ends, thiner and shorter hair.

Do use a comb instead. For big knots/ thick hair a wide tooth comb will probably be more helpful.

2.) Don't brush your hair when it is wet. Hair is alot more fragile when wet and increases the chance for more breakage.

Do brush your hair before showering so when you get out your hair will be nearly knotless. Also wait till your hair is completely dry, or lightly damp.

  • 3.) Don't wash your hair everyday. The water drys out hair, making it brittle and unattractive.

Do wash your hair every three days. On non-washing days put hair in a shower cap or plastic bag to keep it dry. Dry shampoo is a life saver when hair starts to get oily. Just spray some on and your all set.

4.) Do use hair masks. You can go out and buy some or you can make your own using coconut oil or olive oil. While putting the product in make sure to massage throughly.

  • 5.) Don't sleep on cotton pillow case. Cotton causes hair to break.

Do use a silk case. The silk will decrease hair breakage while you get your beauty sleep.

  • Finally just remember perfect, envy worthy hair doesn't happen over night. Just be patient and it will be worth it in the end. Good luck and happy growing! :)
