How To Take Care Of A Fresh Tattoo ⚓️
There are a few different techniques floating around the industry, but this tip is based on medical knowledge and prior experience.
Also note: if you have a way of healing that you use and find your tattoos are fine, bright and not patchy or scarred, the continue to use it 👌
Step 1. When your artist has finished he/she will put cling film onto it.
This is JUST to get you home an not have your new beautiful tattoo stuck to your clothes.
Step 2. When you get home, take the cling film off
Step 3. Wash your tattoo with warm water and a mild soap. (Try to use something without a lot of colours and fragrances)
Step 4. Leave your tattoo to air dry. Make sure nothing is sticking to it. It should be completely dry within twenty mins to half an hour.
Step 5. Wait at least 24 hours before putting any cream onto your tattoo. (Bepanthen nappy cream, savlon healing gel)
Things to be aware of during the healing process.
1. Do not worry about getting it wet. As long as you do not leave it submerged in water you will be okay. But take note of the fact that the wetter you keep it, the more ink will be pulled up and drop off with the scab.
If you do get it wet, dab it dry with a towel, make sure it's bone dry!
2. Do not suffocate it with cream, your tattoo need to breath to heal. If you need cream because it's tight or itchy, then use a very small amount.
Hopefully you find these tips helpful.
