How To Survive Your First Year Of Junior High

posted in Various
  • Hi guys so I'm starting my first year of high school and my brother is starting junior high or middle school as some call it

Anyway I remember my first day of junior high and thought I'd just share some tips from my experience

  • Tip number 1:

Be prepared to make new friends and lose old friends

People change and so will you it's perfectly okay to loose friendships ya it sucks sometimes but it's better to move on than stay friends when you both don't want to

Don't close yourself off from making new friends give everyone a chance

  • Tip 2:

Yes we can tell when you don't
    No you can't hide it
No we don't want to be around you if you smell

    Bottom line just wear it

  • Tip 3:

Just be you don't be fake don't try to be like the cool girl that everyone secretly hates just be you it sounds stupid but it's really the best thing for you because you'll make friends you like you for the real you not the person you're pretending to be

  • Tip 4:

Do take notes you don't want to be the person who never has notes and needs to copy everyone's. It's fine to need a couple but really you need to be responsible for yourself its nobody else's job to take notes for you

  • Tip 5:

Once you start wearing it it's nearly impossible to stop you're beautiful and at 12 years old you don't need to be hiding blemishes or worrying about your eyebrows and all that you have your whole life to wear as much as you want don't start when you're 12 (plus it causes pimples)

  • Tip 6:

    Try to stay organized

It makes your whole life 100% easier

  • Tip 7:

The "older" kids aren't scary they may seem like it first day but honestly we don't care about what you're all doing so don't be nervous about "the big kids" we honestly focus on ourselves and friends we don't go around beating up the grade 7s that's just tv stuff

  • Tip 8:

    Join clubs and teams

Even if your friends think it's stupid or boring do it, if it interests you then go for it, it's a fun way to get involved and meet new people that like some of the same things you do

  • Tip 9:

Being late is NOT the end of the world everyone is late to class once in awhile so don't sweat it

  • Tip 10:

if you get lost first day ( 9/10 you won't everyone tells you where you need to be) just ask someone in the hall for help all you have to say is "hey do you know where this class is" yes even if it's "the big kids" we've been there so we know what it's like and we can help you find your class

  • Tip 11:

have fun! Get out there and enjoy it!
