How To Stop A Nose Bleed!
Health & Fitness
1.) Hold the bridge of your nose to prevent long lasting bleeding. Grab a towel or tissues and hold it up to your nose to stop blood from getting everywhere.
2.) Get in an comfortable position. DO NOT lie down or lean back. You may think that's better and helps, but that allows you to swallow blood and irritated your tummy and even puke.
3.) Pinch your nostrils. Lean forward and use your fingers to pinch your nostrils shut for 10 minutes. Doing this should help the blood clot and stop running, the same way it does when you hold a bandage to a wound on your skin.
4.) Check the bleed. After 10 minutes have passed, release your nose and determine whether its still bleeding. If blood is still flowing, resume pinching your nose for another 10 minutes.
5.) Apply a cold compress over the bridge of your nose. If pinching doesn't seem to be stopping the bleeding, a cold compress will cause blood vessels to constrict, slowing the bleeding. Ice packs work the best for they are the coldest, but cold wash clothes and sponges work too!
6.) Call a doctor. If the bleeding has been over 20-30 minutes, you hit your head before the bleed, or any serious injuries you've had before the nose bleed that could resolute in the nose bleed.
And that's how you stop a nose bleed! 😊
