Try to drink water instead of soda. If you can't, invest in a soda stream or buy carbonated water. Carry a one or two liter bottle of water and only drink that throughout the day. If it's with you, you will drink it. Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to lose weight and it also has benefits to your hair, skin and overall appearance.
Consider alternate means of transportation!
If you are traveling a short distance consider walking or biking. To work, friends houses the beach etc this is an easy way to sneak in a workout and keep you in shape.
Cut back on alcohol!
I know that it's barbecue season and everyone wants to drink a beer or a Smirnoffs but consider cutting back or completely cutting it out of your diet. If you can't stop drinking altogether, start drinking things that are lower in calories and don't contain added sugars and flavours.
With junk food all around it can be hard to keep a balanced diet but start doing meal prep. This is done by preparing a week or a few days worth of healthy meals at the start of the week and then eating only those. If this is too big of a commitment start by making heathy snacks so you're not tempted to pull out some chips.
Take up a new exercise!
Take your kids or a friend to the park, the zoo, or just for a walk to gain some exercise but still have fun doing it. Just make sure you don't stop for ice cream! Take up new exercise classes (yoga classes, Zumba or dance classes or spin classes). Make sure it's something you enjoy do that it doesn't become a chore.
Wear sunscreen and sunglasses.
Protect your skin from harmful rays, trust me you'll thank me later. Make sure to also wear sunglasses, a hat and even lip balm with spf.
