How To Sleep Comfortably : 4 Easy And Proven Tips For A Good Nights Sleep
Health & Fitness
Do you ever wake up with back pains, neck aches or just wake up feeling tired and lethargic? I have (4) quick tips - given to me by my chiro that have helped me over the last 3months that I thought I'd share for free!!! (Chiropractors are expensive)
Sleeping on your stomach is probably one of the WORST ways to sleep. Not only does it curve your back awkwardly but it happens to be (sadly) a super comfy position that hooks you into thinking you're okay.
Sleeping on either your back or side are the best options.
• placing a pillow comfortably under your neck more so than head, helps to maintain the slight natural arch of the neck & another pillow, folded in half and placed under your knees to create a semi arched shape too.
Our brains tend to think of everything and anything possible once we finally decide to retire for the night. And a lot of us can keep at it for hours, thinking away. Until it's 4am, and you have to be up at 5am to get ready for work!
• counting your breathes can help you sleep!
NO JOKE! if you lay back and start to think about your breathing - the lengths, the sound and even the feeling, you'll suddenly awake in the morning not even realising you fell asleep!
If you're bed, pillows and linen aren't clean you won't get a good sleep!
Funnily enough, pillows expire! YES, you heard me EXPIRE! Having clean pillows and linen are a must and without these basic requirements you have already failed yourself. GO WASH YOUR SHEETS!!
The biggest sleep killer of all is all technology. Phones, T.Vs, laptops, iPads etc
And the easiest way to combat technology you ask??
TURN IT OFF!!
Simple! It's just common sense.
Turning off your electronics will help your brain and body relax. And more then anything your eyes will stop straining in the dark while staring at a screen and thank you by not wanting to open and embracing the dark!
