  • First wear hair in a braid, piñapple or silk/satin sleeping cap at night. This prevents the delicate hair from rubbing on the pillow case causing breakage. Equally, you could just just a silk or satin pillow case. Not cotton as it absorbs precious moisture from the hair.

  • Use shampoos which have no sulphates in. Sulphates strip hair of moisture creating dryness and damage. This in turn creates split ends.
Loreal do excellent sulphate free shampoo. There are also better sulphate frees online, however they are more expensive.

  • Do a weekly overnight oiling of coconut oil ( or any oil which your hair loves)
Also make sure to a tiny bit of coconut oil on your hair before and after you wash it. This prevents water damage and restores shine.

  • If you use curl creams, look for ones with low or no silicones ( prevents moisture penetrating hair, causing dryness) and definitely stay away from products which contain alcohol.
Also don't use heat. Stay away from curlers, straighteners an blow dryers. Instead use a micro fibre towel to dry hair
