How To Prevent Dry Itchy Skin

Firstly make sure you are getting the right amount of water, 8 glasses a day for adults, dehydration is the first step to combat and you need to be drinking the right amount in order to properly assess your skins dryness.
Have a bath, sounds silly but I never have a bath, I’d love to but I am either always running late or just can’t be bothered with the hassle so I opt for a shower. Having a bath with cool or luke warm water, directly lubricates the skin.
Moisturize straight after your bath or shower. Moisturizers keep the water in and so must been done as soon as you get out. Important point: Don’t over towel dry yourself, pat your self damp dry and then moisturize, try to keep some of that water on your skin whilst you moisturize.
Use natural oils or moisturizers. Using natural oils are the best lubricants for your skin, olive oils, vegetable oils, coconut oils or pure petroleum jelly. These are cheap and perfect for this kind of problem. They can be greasy but if you can mix your own creams including these products you will have a much more

Keep yourself and your house cool. I know it’s cold, I even had to turn on the central heating last night, but this can stimulate itching and dryness on the skin, so I’m not saying sit the cold, but try to keep the room a little cool instead!
