How To Make Empanadas Aka Pastelillos
Food & Drink
It's very simple! You would need: Pan Folk Oil ( I prefer canola oil) Goya disc Cheese
You can find these at any supermarket in the frozen aisle.
You can pick any cheese you like. This one is my favorite!
Take as many you want to make and let them defrost at room temp. Tip: take them out a few hours before cooking, if you defrost them in the microwave they won't stretch as they normally would.
Stretch them has big as you like.
With fork start sealing the corners, you would have to do both side to secure cheese.
You would need to add a lot of oil to be able to cover at least one side. I normally put half the size of the pan.
After making all the empanadas and the oil is hot, it is time to cook!!!
Turning them around may be difficult but with a few tries you will master it without making a mess nor burning yourself. Use the fork to turn them around be very careful.
Taking them out could be a challenge but The idea is to take the corner of the empanada with the fork and lift it and put it on the plate.
And you are ready to serve.
Hope these tips help. I just made them. Another idea you can always add ground beef ( always cook the meat before putting it in the Goya disc), chicken, pepperoni, etc.
It's an easy and fast treat to make while waiting for dinner. Please like!
