How To Make A Cute Journal!
DIY & Crafts
This is so simple and easy. Takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast your glue drys
You will need a composition book, batting, fabric, hot glue gun, and buttons if you want them.
The first thing you do is cut out a piece batting that is as big as your composition book when it's opened. After you cut the batting out, glue it on. Make sure you cover the entire thing, and try not to have any scraps on the sides.
Okay, so next thing you do is cut out your fabric one inch bigger then your composition book on all sides.
Make sure you glue on the side inside of the book. Also, cut slits in the fabric at both ends when you reach the part where it bends. This will allow the fabric to not clump up on the edges.
After your glue drys, place your buttons where you want them, make sure you like them there, and glue them on.
Now when you first finish your journal, it will stay open, like this. You can either wait a few days with it laying upside down, or add a closing contraption.
I decided to add a closing contraption because I didn't want to wait! All I did was wrap a price of yarn all the way around the journal and glue it down. I left some extra yarn at the end so I could wrap it around a button. Then, voila! It opens and closes!
I hope you liked this tip! Like it for more DIY s and decor!!!
