First sit in the straddle position and extend your legs as far as they can go. Gradually throughout this process your straddle will get better as well.
After you sit in the straddle position put your hands flat in front of you. Push yourself up and rotate your hips to the front. Once you do that sit in that position. It may hurt but, distract yourself while doing it.
If you find yourself having difficulty with the last few steps break them down into a process that will work for you. If you push yourself it can hurt you.
The process doesn't work immediately but, over time you will notice improvements in your flexibility.
