  • Have you ever bought a nail polish and painted your nails to realize that it chips horribly? I won't say that it isn't always the polish's fault but a lot of times it truly isn't the polish. It's our nails! Before painting your nails, follow these simple steps to achieve a long lasting manicure! โค

  • Remove ALL nail polish before anything else. I recommend taking nail polish remover on a cotton pad to nails that don't even have polish on them, just to remove any dirt.

  • Invest in a buffing block. They're usually around $1-$5. I recommend sticking with all white ones as sometimes the colors transfer onto your nails. To use this, simply file the whole entire nail horizontally + vertically. This will remove all of the ridges from the nail + result in a smooth base.

  • Next, apply a nail hardener or strengthener. This one from Sinful Colors works incredibly well. I use this as a base coat and since it is designed to strengthen your nails, it makes them less likely to break - helping your nails grow up to 2x faster.

  • Finally, choose a nail polish! One of my favorite brands is Essie because they have a huge range of shades including neutrals + brights. Paint 2-3 coats onto your nails until you reach the desired opacity. For extra strength, apply another layer of nail hardener. BOOM. A perfect mani every time!
