How To Get A Infant Up To One Years To Stop Crying A Usually Go To Sleep
Family & Kids
When baby has been crying for a while and what seems to be no reason and you have tried everything remember these 5 S's.
Sit: When your baby isn't calming down it can feel overwhelming and frustrate you or make you feel like you did something wrong. That's not the case. So put baby in her bed and shut the door and calm down yourself. You can't help her when you are stressed and a few more minutes of crying won't hurt.
Swaddle: swaddling calms baby down and makes them feel us rue and reminds them of the womb. So once you have calmed down grab a soft baby blanket, go grab baby and swaddle away.
Side: you may have noticed baby is still crying even though you swaddled him! Once all bundled up lay baby on their stomach or on their side while you rock them to sleep
Suck: when my baby cousin was three months old and wouldn't be woken by her hand I left one hand out of the swaddle so she could suck on her thumb. But pacifiers work too. The sucking helps soothe them and it's harder to cry with their mouths full
Sound: a lot of people think baby's need quite when born but the womb was noisy and memories of the womb soothes them so we need to make noise! Turning on a vacuum or hair dryer or even just constant shushing helps!
Sleep. I guess there are really 6 S's, 7 if you count serenity. After a few minutes baby is usually so relaxed and so tired from crying they will just slip right off to sleep.
