How I Maintain My Red Hair
As many of you may know...red hair is the hardest to maintain because it is the first dye to fade the fastest. Here is how I keep my hair this color as long as I possibly can before dying it again! I will also add a picture of the dye I use :)
First and foremost: ALWAYS use shampoo and conditioner specifically for color treated hair! This line is currently what I use when washing my hair. It has damage protection in it which is great since coloring your hair so much damages your hair. This helps keep it soft and shiny.
DRY SHAMPOO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND! When you have red hair, or colored hair at all...it is best to not wash your hair every single day. Actually...the longer you can go without washing it the better and longer your hair will last. I LOVE THIS ONE. The white residue disappears SO easily and smells great
HEAT PROTECTION is super important when drying your hair or styling it for that matter. This stuff is amazing since it does 21 things to your hair at one time. I will list those 21 things in the next slide :) you can purchase this online or in ULTA stores and I'm sure in some salons as well.
Pureology Color Fanatic
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS!!!! I tried the John Frieda for red hair shampoo and conditioner thinking it would protect my red hair better...I thought wrong. It actually made it fade 100x worse. The next morning my hair was brown again. Not even kidding.
My hair dye! I can't promise you it will turn out exactly like mine. I got my hair professionally colored first. My hair was dark brown (color treated) before getting it done red. Once it faded it was dark auburn. I dyed it with this box once faded an it's now a cherry coke color! I love it :)
I put some of this in my conditioner! It helps prevent my color from fading.
