HAIR CARE : KNOW THE TRUTH
PLEASE NOTE - I AM A QUALIFIED HAIRDRESSER AND THESE TIPS ARE BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIANCE AND EDUCATION. DO NOT GET OFFENDED BY ANY OF MY INPUT ABOUT THIS TOPIC
To start off, even though I've always been taught at college to shampoo hair twice, don't. If you have dry hair anyway, this will only remove oils from your hair that you require to help it grow and become healthy. One shampoo will be sufficient.
Also, a trick I've learnt over my years of hairdressing is to put conditioner on your very ends of your hair before shampooing, leaving it on while you shampoo and rinse it all out in one process. This seems really bizarre, but I find it doesn't frizz your hair. This works because your end don't need shampooing as all hair oil and fresh hair grows from your scalp and that's where the product build up is. Try this out and you'll feel a massive difference.
If you're someone who likes to shower everyday, try something called co-washing. This means you skip the shampooing process entirely and just condition your hair. This seems like a pointless process, but just adding water to your hair can spread oil and product buildup, creating further dirt build up on the hair. It's worth a try.
Use a wide tooth comb to comb your conditioner through your hair while you wait for it to do its magic. It ensures all your hair gets covered and tangle free.
Avoid using a brush on wet hair. A wide tooth comb is fine but persoanlly id avoid brushing your hair at all when wet and wait until it's in a dryer state before messing.
Also, avoid putting products on extremely wet hair. You'll end up wasting products and it won't have as good of effect. Leave it to dry for 10 minutes or so (or until your roots seem dry) and go ahead and add desired products.
A huuuge thing I stress about to all my family and friends is argon oil. It's your best friend! Add a couple of pumps to your hair and it'll have an instant shine and feel sooo smooth. Please note - do not put this on your scalp as it can cause irritation and will create greasy hair and you'll be back to square one.
Another big thing I stress about is leave in conditioner. Using too much of this can cause your hair to feel a bit sticky but uses correctly, this makes your hair feel soft too! Combine this with argon oil and your locks will be luscious again in no time!
BONUS TIP - slightly irrelevant to hair, however it has a similar effect. I pump argon oil into dried up mascaras and it makes them feel as good as new. It thins out the formula inside the mascara tube and makes it lightweight on your eyes. Plus, it's super easy to get off (unless you use waterproof mascara, then good luck with that)
