  • Hi all! I'm a chef in training and this is a recipe we made at course and is absolutely amazing! So easy , so I hope you enjoy!

  • This is a garlic butter naan but you can add cheese, coriander or whatever suits

  • (Yield 8)
    Ingredients:
    1. 360g flour (strong or high grade is best)
    2. 5g baking powder
    3. 5g baking soda
    4. 5g salt
    5. 15ml lemon juice
    6. 70g plain yoghurt
    7. Water
    8. 45g crushed garlic
    9. 15g melted butter

  • Method:
    Sieve 1,2,3 & 4, a few times
    Mix in 5 & 6
    Add enough water to bring to a dough. - don't stress if you add too much water, just add a bit more flour.
    Turn onto bench and kneed for 2-3 minutes.

    Rub oil in your bowl and leave dough in it, covered and at room temperature for about an hour before cooking.

  • Once dough is rested, cut into 8 even portions.

    ( Naan bread is traditionally cooked in a tandoor oven, but you can use a wok, or frying pan flipped upside down at home - it still works 😊 )

    Now, lightly brush wok or pan with a little oil and put on stove to heat up, you want it smoking a little but not too extreme.
    While that is heating, roll out your first naan. You want it quite thin for best results.

    Place on wok and cook until it starts bubbling (about a minute) and flip over.
    Repeat with the remaining dough

  • Once cooked, brush with melted butter and crushed garlic and serve 😍
