Forget Dieting! Try These Simple Steps To Losing Weight
Health & Fitness
Before trying any other weight loss method, here are the first (and simplest) steps to losing weight and adopting a healthy lifestyle
(The most simplest step): Drink Water!
From personal experience, drinking water is the easiest step in weight loss (if you can handle swapping it out for your favorite beverages). I went from 130-135 (what I had been all through out high school) to 122 without exercise or change in my diet!
Cut out sugary beverages and replace them with ice cold water for the best results. Make sure you're drinking at least 8 cups a day (if not more)
Think twice before touching that soda...
If you can't stand the taste of water, jazz it up!
I hated the taste of water when I first started drinking it, but the more you drink it the better it tastes.
If you're having a hard time adapting to the taste of water, try adding low calorie/sugar drink mixes, or adding fresh fruits
Watch your portions!
Portion sizes can be the last thing on your mind when handed a huge, over flowing plate of food at a restaurant. But most portions are double the serving size and may be a key in what's keeping you from losing weight
Portions: what they should be vs. what they are
Use this chart as a guide
Instead of finishing off your plate, take a to-go box home! You'll still get the food you want, without over stuffing yourself
Psych yourself out and give the illusion that you are eating more by using smaller plates and bowls
Drink water before your meal!
Drinking water before your meal can help you fill up and keep you from eating more than you need to.
A lot of the times when you are feeling hungry, you're really just thirsty!
Eating slower can help you feel full before you end up stuffing yourself. It can take about 15 minutes for your body to process just how full you really are!
Exercise as much as you can! But if you're lazy or unmotivated, try doing it while watching tv. Or try...
Don't eat junk food when you're hungry!
This may seem like a no brainer, but you may not even notice yourself doing it. If you're going to eat something when you're hungry, make sure it's nutritious and filling. Junk food is neither.
Most junk foods are "empty calories," which give you the calories without actually filling you up. You'll get through a whole bad of chips and still feel hungry!
If you're craving junk food, try these instead
Add, don't subtract!
By adding healthy foods without subtracting all the foods you love, losing weight and getting fit becomes a lot less conflicting.
Just make sure you're eating more healthy food than junk food

Don't forget to treat yourself! At the end of the day, there's nothing to feel guilty about giving yourself your favorite desert
