This might sound weird but sometimes we remember important things at the weirdest times. If you have racing thoughts or have anxiety keep a note pad and pen beside you so you can write it down you don't have to worry and feel pressured.
This may not work for you but I do this all the time when I can't sleep.
Think of a movie that you really like or a resent show that you've watched and replay the whole thing in your head. Every detail. This will stop you from over thinking so your brain can relax. Every time I do this I never remember getting to the end of the movie or show.
This one is probably my favorite.
Try holding your breath for 7 seconds then exhale for 8 seconds. Count how many sets you do and see if you can remember how many you did in the morning. First time I tried this I don't even remember getting to the third set. This method helps slow down your heart beat so your body feels more and more relaxed.
