Easy DIY: How To Make A Simple Yet Beautiful No-sew Blanket. All You Need Is Material And Scissors!

  • Buy material in patterns and colours that complement each other (I like fleece). You will need two as it will be a reversible blanket. Make sure the material are identical in size/shape. The amount of material you need depends on the size of blanket you wish to make.

  • Once you have picked out your material, lay them on top of one another and line up the edges so they fit together perfectly. You may need to use pins to hold them together so they don't separate during the next step.

  • Next, use scissors to cut the edges of the material into strips along all four sides of the blanket. The strips should be no more than six inches long and an inch or two wide. Try to make the strips all the same size. The cutting should give it a fringed look before moving on to the final step.

  • Now, simply tie the strips you've cut into knots. Each cut you make should make two strips (one for each type of material you've chosen). Simply take the two strips and tie them together into a double knot. To keep them from untying alternate which strip goes "over" the other one.

  • For a more personalized touch you can get the completed blanket embroidered with names or phrases. This is a great gift for baby showers, birthdays, Christmas, weddings or any occasion. I've made these and gifted them to friends and family and everyone loves them. Very thoughtful and meaningful giff
