    INGREDIENTS
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 5 lemons)
    2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
    4 cups buttermilk

  • Zest the lemons BEFORE you slice them for the juice.
