Decorating with Lanterns | Seasonal Ideas

posted in Home & Garden > Decor
  • Fall
For fall there are so many natural elements that look great in a lantern.
    mini pumpkins
    Indian corn
    fresh or faux bittersweet
    pine cones
Don't feel like you have to fill the lanterns to the top. Layer your items 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up. It's actually more interesting that way.

  • Christmas and Winter
Natural elements as well as decorative accessories look great in lanterns for the Christmas season and beyond.
    ball ornaments
    pine cones
preserved or faux greenery (boxwood or pine)
    faux or fresh red berries
Mini Christmas trees (bottle brush or boxwood)

  • Spring and Summer
When I use my lanterns on a table top (coffee table or dining table) I layer them with a tray. It corrals them and allows you to add other accessories to the vignette. Ideas for spring and summer are
    nests with eggs
    faux colored easter eggs
    dried hydrangeas
    dried lavender bunches
